Diploma in Leadership and Management for Children and Young People
The Diploma in Leadership and Management for Children and Young People is a professional development programme designed to equip learners with the leadership knowledge, management skills and practical competencies required to lead, coordinate and manage services for children and young people.
The programme focuses on leadership principles, strategic planning, operational management, child safeguarding, staff supervision, team development, service quality assurance, resource management and programme evaluation. Learners will develop an understanding of the responsibilities involved in managing childcare services, youth development programmes, residential care settings and community-based support organisations.
Through theoretical learning, case studies, group projects, simulated management scenarios and practical activities, learners will develop competencies in decision-making, communication, conflict resolution, risk management, policy implementation and performance monitoring. The programme also explores child-centred leadership, inclusive practice, children's rights, professional ethics and collaboration with families, educators, social service professionals and community stakeholders.
Emphasis is placed on creating safe, inclusive and supportive environments in which children and young people can develop their abilities, participate meaningfully and achieve positive outcomes.
